Angels 1.0

Angels 1.0

One of the subjects that I honestly believe is not given enough time from the pulpits, home schools and Theological institutions is the subject of angels and the roles they play in our lives. We only get glimpses of their actions/interactions throughout the Bible. In each and every case you can see that people were awed by these figures – even to the point of being feared and worshiped (which Paul expressly forbids.) For example, Abraham stopped everything he was doing to host them on their travels to Sodom & Gomorrah. Jacob wrestled with one, to the point that the angel had to use special powers to win the battle. Joshua and Manoah spoke directly to them and Daniel called for their help, which was delayed for three weeks because he had to engage in battle to get to Daniel’s rescue.

Angels roles and messages remain somewhat unclear because we do not have the context that perhaps the ancient Hebrews had when the common era scriptures were accepted by the Council of Nicea. It does not tell us what the books of Enoch, Jasher, Jubilees, etc. told the Hebrews of old. They are quoted multiple times in our Bible, yet their message is most often neglected or simply not told.

Generally, the Bible tells us that that Angels play a prominent role in your life and mine but not to what extent. You must pursue an awareness. Back in July (24th) I shared some information with you about them and continued to add tidbits earlier this month. However, I want you to do something that Jesus, the Essenes, Pharisees, Scribes and Paul as well as some of the disciples did. I want you to study and understand who they are and the impact of them on your lives and those you come in contact with so you know how to cope with their influence. I would like you to think about reading extra-Biblical literature – the same books read during Jesus’ time so you can have an understanding of who angels are and the impact they have on everyone’s life on a daily basis.

Let’s start with some basics today. 1/3 of this host of beings was cast out of heaven to earth and serve Satan because they signed up for his program over Gods. (Revelation 12:4). The other 2/3rds remain to serve you and meet your needs because they protect and preserve you at God’s beckoning (Hebrews 1:14). You have the numerical odds of 2 good angels to 1 demon working against you. However, you will not know until you reach Heaven how many times the angels intervened to save your skin, given you words of direction, encouraged you and protected you from the demonic objectives.

Now for some specifics. The book of Enoch, especially, is extremely detailed about the roles those cast out of heaven played in mankind’s early history. Let me give you a glimpse of Chapter8: Moreover, Azazyel taught men to make swords, knives, shields, breastplates, the fabrication of mirrors, and the workmanship of bracelets and ornaments, the use of paint, the beautifying of the eyebrows, the use of stones of every valuable and select kind, and of all sorts of dyes, so that the world became altered. Impiety increased; fornication multiplied; and they transgressed and corrupted all their ways. Amazarak taught all the sorcerers, and dividers of roots: Armers taught the solution of sorcery; Barkayal taught the observers of the stars; Akibeel taught signs; Tamiel taught astronomy; And Asaradel taught the motion of the moon. And men, being destroyed, cried out; and their voice reached to heaven.

We’ll talk more tomorrow after you’ve thought about this. Love Dad
