Angels 3.0

Angels 3.0

Several days ago we started talking about Angels and their impact on the lives of everyone here on earth. If you go back to July 24th we used a quote from Hebrews 1:14 about the reality of who they are and what their role is. Yesterday we differentiated between the two “angelic” groups and what they can and cannot do. Today I want you to see how God designed them to help you in your life. It is one of the most encouraging concepts I could share with you because of the great hope and security, as well as the dimension and depth it adds to His plan for you as an individual.

When we reconsider that quote, it should remind you of several things to embrace and find great peace in. They are: (1) Angels have an assignment and you are part of their assignment. In addition to salvation and His Spirit to seal you for eternity, you are never alone because there is a special spiritual being delegated to you. (2) Angels are sent to minister to you. To serve you – that’s what minister means and they take God’s orders seriously. You are a focus of God’s attention. (3) Since they are assigned to you, it is their job to accompany you and see that you are cared for properly. That means they cannot watch TV, listen to their favorite hymns or play bingo. They are responsible for YOU. (4) They are assigned to you because you answered God’s call in your life, believed in Christ Jesus as the Son of God and realized that He died for you and rose again, so you could have eternity in His presence. Unbelievers cannot claim those same promises.

Now, I want to emphasize something more by recalling a couple Biblical examples that will reaffirm their importance and THEIR COMMITMENT TO YOU PERSONALLY! Psalm 91:11 – 12 was quoted TO SATAN, BY JESUS. It goes like this: For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.” Even Jesus says that Angels were there to protect us and are assigned for each and every situation.

Now, let’s get more specific. In Matthew 18:10 I want you to see a key word that I have highlighted: “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.”  That must mean that there are specific angels for each person. We also see the same concept in the statement made by Rhoda when Peter appeared at her door after the angel released him from prison in Acts 12:14 – 15: “When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed she ran back without opening it and exclaimed, ‘Peter is at the door!’  ‘You’re out of your mind,’ they told her. When she kept insisting that it was so, they said, ‘It must be his angel.’” If you have ever had any doubt that you have a guardian angel, leave it behind. The scripture is clear. You need to have that security.

While it is true that God can do anything, He will often send angels to ensure the work is done properly and within the bounds of His plan for you (Daniel 9:23). It is another layer of our eternal security. It is another reminder of God’s depth of love for you – the same way a scripture can tell you one thing the first time you read it and reveal something else the next time. You cannot think or believe that there needs to be an emergency meeting of the Trinity when you have a problem. Angels are there to serve and minster to you and help you through life’s challenges. Be secure. Be encouraged. Most of all find joy and hope in each of life’s circumstances. You have a support system that is inexhaustible.

Love Dad.
