A Question about Jesus – Part II

A Question about Jesus – Part II

Yesterday we began looking at the question: “I believe in God, I pray to Him and ask for His guidance in as many aspects of my life that I can but I don’t know that I fully have a grip on Jesus, where do I go from here?”  Yesterday we established the fact that 84+% of the world believes in “God” or a higher power. We even illustrated that even the spirit world believes in God. So, if this is true, then most people would agree that there is a higher power with history recording this belief since the creation. With that concept in mind, we then understand why there is order, rather than chaos to the universe, solar system, why the earth rotates on its axis, how the human bodies intricacies were designed, etc. That same creator would naturally take pride in His creations and want them to benefit from His knowledge.

Since God wanted order to life as we know it, He must also have wanted His creations to understand the reason behind this order. In that way, His creations would be able to use a simplistic (in comparison to His) basic reasoning to eliminate the doubt of His existence as well as why He structured life as we know it. This would require communication between His (the spirit) world and our (the physical) world. He understood that this would be difficult for us because we struggle comprehending things we cannot see, touch, etc. Additionally, the concept of living outside the time continuum and all of the ramifications that go with that would be a challenge, even to the more sophisticated mind.

To be able to articulate this information there had to be a channel of communication that would be valued by humans. God decided He would make multiple attempts, in various ways. As I mentioned earlier in the year, phase 1 was when He actually walked on earth with Adam. He talked with Adam the way I have talked with you. Well, Adam had a short memory and an eye on what he could see, rather than his creator, which he could not see all the time. Things didn’t work because Adam, like all of us, had free will and he chose to deliberately ignore the fact that what God said was true. So he died!

So, phase II was God communicating through Moses to make sure His truth was written down, explained in detail and delivered through a select group of people/historians who were appointed as “Priests to the nations.” This was a big step forward because now there was documentation to back up what He was communicating. And He was doing it with more preserved copies of any manuscript that has ever been authored. That’s right, way back then, God was doing data backups! The challenge again was people had free will and chose to ignore the truth of what God communicated. Heck, even many of the people He called as Priests chose to ignore what they did not like or chose to ignore.

So, now there is phase III. I don’t know, but if I were God at this point, I would be a bit frustrated, wondering why all of my diligence and effort was being taken so lightly by so many. However, like any parent, He was going to take another step to ensure there was clarity to the creation to ensure misunderstanding was all but eliminated. This is where Jesus comes in and really provides relevancy to the whole situation and issues that humans take lightly. I say that because I know that in some cultures here in America, up to 80% of the families are one-parent rather than two. When a parent can desert the child they brought life to, it staggers the imagination.

Jesus was an original member of the God family. That’s right, the last name is God, just like ours is Coker. Father God, Jesus God and the Holy Ghost God. To willingly allow part of the creation team to leave the comfort of Heaven to ensure we knew the truth was an amazing Phase II. We’ll put Jesus in context and illustrate his role and value to you individually, tomorrow.

Love Dad
