A Question about Jesus – Part IV

A Question about Jesus – Part IV

Today we close out our comment: “I believe in God, I pray to Him and ask for His guidance in as many aspects of my life that I can but I don’t know that I fully have a grip on Jesus, where do I go from here?”  For the last few days we, very simply, reasoned through the logical process that a higher being would go through to communicate with created beings (humans) with a lesser level of intellect. The only way to make that kind of impression was doing things that were not humanly possible and then documenting them in multiple resources so there was unmistakable verification that He existed. The challenge is that no matter how much proof you provide some people, they will ignore the truth and find a means of justifying their feelings. Freedom of choice, granted by God, so we can elect our destiny.

Let me give you a real life example from my profession. For over three decades now I have been using psychometric assessments to measure aspects of the human mind, identify correlations to work, educational and developmental processes. Most people refuse to admit that these types of tools are some of the most scientifically validated and most highly applied sciences in use today. They argue with the results, yet they input the data for measurement. They refute the validation studies that we can measure the difference between someone who will be safe verses one who is at risk. They contest the fact that LifeThrive’s processes can improve emotional intelligence, despite years of validation studies. They continue to refuse help that is made available, for whatever reasons.

I love Einstein’s statement that:  the definition of insanity is doing something over and over again and expecting a different result. People do not like change even though they know what they are doing (health wise) will kill them, decisions that they make (relationally) will sever relationships and their spending habits (financially) will bankrupt them. People choose to make decisions, which they have rationalized or justified because it is what they want to do. That is freedom of choice and that is a gift from God. And some people choose to ignore the obvious, documentation of others because they choose to believe what they want. The Bible even says that in simple, straightforward language that has the capacity to be understood by children (1 Corinthians 1: 18-20, 26-28).

Additionally, we are told very specifically that people will believe lies and suffer because of that (2 Thessalonians 2:9-11). For example, some people believe that if you blow yourself up killing specific groups of people you will inherit sensual pleasures in the afterlife when we know that the afterlife is genderless. That is about as far out in left field as it gets, yet people buy into lies.

Here is the point: people will believe what they want to believe and we cannot change that. Our role is to speak and live the truth of the most documented life ever recorded. The only life that has proven it can have the power of life and death. The only life that so deeply impacted history that it changed the calendar which the world ascribes to. The only birth in the history of the world that is now celebrated universally, regardless of the religions of the countries in which it is celebrated. The only birth that has the power to cause the first and widest publication to ever hit the press – regardless of categories or best sellers that have come and gone. The world cannot ignore what God exalts.

The truth is that there are those who refuse to see the nose on their own face and this will continue. Our job is to pray that their eyes will be opened to see the truth. What is truth? Truth is a man and his name is Jesus.
